Under the terms of the agreement, Biocon Biologics Ltd., a subsidiary of Biocon Ltd., will offer about 15% stake to Serum Institute Life Sciences Pvt., a unit of the world’s biggest vaccine maker, at a post-money valuation of nearly $4.9 billion (Rs 36,046 crore)
In exchange, Biocon Biologics will get committed access to 10 crore doses of vaccines per annum for 15 years, primarily from Serum Institute Life Sciences’ upcoming vaccine facility in Pune with commercialisation rights of its vaccine portfolio (including that for Covid-19) in global markets
Besides vaccines, the strategic alliance will develop antibodies targeting several infectious diseases such as dengue and HIV, among others. Biocon Biologics will also, at its cost, establish a vaccine research and development division to support the alliance, and wherever possible, will make available its cell culture and sterile fill and finish capacities for vaccine production

Tata Digital is set to launch a Nykaa rival
Tata Digital is finalising plans to launch a new ecommerce platform exclusively to sell beauty and cosmetics products, in direct competition to Nykaa, Purplle and MyGlamm, executives directly aware of the development said. The online store will be separate from Tata CLiQ, which also deals in segments such as apparel and electronics besides beauty products, and existing ecommerce group verticals like Westside which sell cosmetics, beauty, apparel and lifestyle household products online.
Ola Electric sells S1 scooters worth over ₹1,100 crore in 2 days
Ola Electric completed two days of sales of the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro scooters. The company has revealed that it made over ₹1100 crores in sale within a period of just two days. On day 1, the company announced that it made sales worth over ₹600 crore which it claimed is more than what the entire 2-wheeler segment makes in a single day in India.
India may corner nearly half of global rice trade as exports soar to record
India could account for as much as 45 per cent of global rice exports in 2021 as expanded port-handling capacity allows the world’s second largest rice grower after China to ship record volumes to buyers across Africa and Asia.
The world’s top exporter could ship as much as 22 million tonnes (mt) of rice this year, or more than the combined exports of the next three largest exporters Thailand, Vietnam and Pakistan, said Nitin Gupta, Vice President of Olam India’s rice business. “Along with traditional buyers, this year China, Vietnam and Bangladesh are also making purchases from India,” he said. India’s exports in 2020 jumped 49 per cent from the year before to a record 14.7 mt , as shipments of non-basmati rice spiked 77 per cent to a record 9.7 mt
