SIP Calculator – Systematic Investment Plan Calculator

SIPs are a method of investing in mutual funds at regular intervals. This calculator helps you estimate returns on your monthly SIP investments based on expected annual return rate and tenure.

What is a SIP Calculator?

A SIP calculator is a simple tool that allows individuals to estimate returns on their mutual fund investments made through SIP. SIP investments have become one of the most popular investment options for retail investors.

These calculators are designed to give potential investors an estimate on their investments. However, actual returns vary depending on various factors. The SIP calculator does not account for exit load and expense ratio.

How do SIP calculators work?

A SIP plan calculator works on the following formula:

M = P × ({[1 + i]^n – 1} / i) × (1 + i)

M

Maturity amount

P

Monthly investment

n

Number of payments

i

Periodic interest rate

Important Calculation Note

Monthly return is computed as (1 + Annual Return)^(1/12) − 1, not Annual ÷ 12. For a 12% annual return, the effective monthly rate is ~0.95% (not 1%). Dividing by 12 overstates returns due to compounding.
